Ferrari just revealed their interior design of their upcoming EV by Jony Ive’s design studio. You can definitely see the Apple inspired touches of glass and aluminum all over.
Couple of things I would have done differently. The stearing wheel controls and center infotainment are bolted on. In my opinion, the electronics should blend seamlessly in with the vehicle. I want my dash to look like a dash, not a monitor stand.
Bolt-ons aside, I love the integration of the analog and the digital. I want to feel cold metal switches with a quality click as it enters the detents balanced with dynamic digital read outs. It’s those small details that elevate the experience. Give me a big switch to adjust the tempature with a fluid, unobtrusive, gauge to help me hone it in.
And thank you for the white text on black background! Vehicle GUI designers love blues and reds but for greatest visibility, you need high contrast. Save Roy G Biv for climate controls.
